A Few Words About Us

Founded in 2012, Prepared Accounting began with a vision to offer small businesses an alternative to traditional accounting firms.  Lyle Phipps, CPA ( Founder) began partnering up with entrepreneurs to help them build their businesses in a way that would support their lifestyle. He leveraged automation and mobile technology whenever possible and delivered this from the perspective of a CPA with a future CFO in mind.

Along the way, we have enlisted other team members (some CFO’s) from broad industry backgrounds in Massachusetts who have joined the cause to help startup entrepreneurs, non-profits, and small businesses while staying true to our core values.

Lyle Phipps

CPA - Tax Manager / Founder

Lyle started his career with KPMG (one of the "Big 4" accounting firms) and provided tax services in New York City for large firms such as Goldman Sachs. With KPMG he prepared and reviewed individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns during which time he passed the CPA exam. He started Prepared Accounting to offer an alternative to traditional accounting firm’s way of doing business by leveraging mobile applications and cloud technologies. He loves creating value, saving time, saving tax money with structuring, and teaming up with clients to help them build their work and lifestyle dreams.

Fun Fact: Lyle has made a goal to (traditionally) rock climb the “Incredible Hulk” in the saw-toothed High Sierras Before July of 2020.

William Kirk

Tax Associate

Over the past few years Will has gained small business accounting, tax preparation, and bookkeeping experience and also recently earned a degree in Accounting to accompany his degree in music. He has 2 years of Quickbooks and Intaact experience and (highly) handy with managing and organizing information. A thorough and thoughtful bookkeeper, he currently shares a homestead in Florence with his newly wed wife Dede and a border collie Maya. They have a young orchard and farm vegetables, berries, and other trees.

Fun Fact: Will studied jazz guitar at the University of Vermont, and performed throughout the northeast. Ask him about cider-making!

Robbin Lauzon

CPA, MBA - Controller

Efficiency, that is what you will get handfuls of with Robbin. An accomplished controller, Intacct specialist, accounting team leader, management accountant, financial analyst and project manager with extensive experience in operations, process improvement, ERP implementation, key metric development, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Her experience solving problems as a controller for entities between $55MM and $400MM gives her a perspective and ability to identify future needs of growing organizations. She has excellent communication skills and works well with all levels of an organization..

Fun Fact: Robbin LOVES to cook and recommends Emile Henry Baking Dishes for her favorite recipes which you will have to get on her (very) good side to try...

Mark Jolly

CMA, PMP – CFO, Controller, Project Manager

As a certified Management Accountant and Project management Professional, Mark has been steering day-to-day operations in all areas of accounting, financial planning and analysis, Project management and Real Estate Management. He has over 20 years’ experience in developing and implementing financial controls has expertise in Retail, Residential/Commercial Property and Construction Management, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Financial Institutions and Non-Profit Organizations. On his spare time he likes to Golf and coach baseball.

Fun Fact: Mark is a LEAN process Black Belt and a champion implementer of Balanced Scorecard performance evaluation methods!

Laure Fossi

MBA -  Controller

Laure Fossi brings 12 years of Accounting experience to the team; including 6 years of controllership, consulting and advising startups in Boston and Cambridge.  She has worked with fast growing companies defining accounting policies, generating forecasts, helping them prepare for audits and assisting them with elements of the due diligence process.  Laure currently lives in Boston with her husband and helps animate our Bay State!

Fun Fact: She hails from Houston and Cameroon and speaks fluent French. Elle est la meilleure comptable de sa classe, bien sur!

Anne Berge

CPA – Tax Manager

Anne is the newest and addition to our tax team.  She has 10 years of tax experience and has worked for Deloitte on their federal tax team, for IRS as a business auditor, as a controller for a private foundation, and also ran her own accounting and tax business!  Her current focus is integration consulting for businesses and the resolution of issues surrounding post-acquisition and rapid growth periods. Feel free to ask her about those problems for your 10x startup.

Fun Fact: Both of Anne’s parents are from Belgian and lived in Antwerp!

Allison LaPierre–Houle

Bookkeeper

Allison has been working with professional transactions and payables/receivables since 2005 and Quickbooks since 2012. She understands and works with CRM systems like Salesforce, online systems like GSuite, and is a very fast learner.  She has also trained and led Accounting staff while working for several other companies in western mass.

Fun Fact:  She lives in West Springfield with her husband, two children, and a wicked / cute pug and Bulldog duo.

Ana Steiner

Tax Intern / Bookkeeper

We are totally stoked to have Ana intern with us in 2019 for the tax season. She already has experience with bookkeeping and has a happy place with the making the numbers click. She is currently finishing up her degree at GCC this spring semester.

Fun Fact: Ana enjoys community theater productions and has been learning lights and sound boards for Ghost Light Theater in Holyoke, MA
